Mauritius Strengthens Its Global Position in GFCI 39

The Financial Services Commission Mauritius has welcomed the release of the 39th edition of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 39) by Z/Yen Group on 26 March 2026, with Mauritius recording a notable improvement in its global standing.

Key updates:
• Mauritius ranked 50th globally among leading international financial centres
• Improvement of 8 positions from 58th (March 2025) to 50th (March 2026)
• Ranked among top 5 financial centres in Africa and the Middle East
• Recognised as a financial centre expected to grow in significance over the next 2-3 years
• Fintech ranking improved from 56th to 51st position globally

What this signals:
• Strengthening of Mauritius as a competitive and reputable IFC
• Continued alignment with global regulatory and governance standards
• Growing importance of fintech and innovation in the jurisdiction
• Increased recognition among international investors and industry participants
